This guide will walk you through setting up your Genesis Hotspot. Please follow the steps carefully and contact our support team if you encounter any issues.
Initial Setup
Before mounting your Genesis Hotspot permanently, place it near your router in an easily accessible location. This initial setup ensures that everything is working correctly before installation in a potentially hard-to-reach spot.
Setup Requirements
Device: iPhone with iOS 14.0 or higher, or Android smartphone with Android 11 or higher.
App: Download the Wayru WiFi app for iOS or Android.
Wallet: The app automatically creates a wallet for you. You may use this wallet or import your own—just be sure to save your keys save before beginning the minting process.
Funds: Ensure you have $50 USD in SOL plus extra for transaction fees.
Connection: A wired broadband connection is required.
Step 1: Add Your Miner
Begin by adding your Genesis Hotspot via the Wayru WiFi app.
Open the App: Launch the Wayru WiFi app.
Navigate to Miners: Tap the Miners section in the button bar.
Add Miner: Click on the + Add Miner button.
Select Device: Choose Wayru Genesis.
Proceed: Tap Continue.
Step 2: Connect the Device to the Power Supply Adapter
Connect your Genesis Hotspot to the provided Power Supply Adapter.
Step 3: Connect the Adapter to Your Router
Establish a connection to your internet service provider.
Connect the LAN port of the POE Power Supply Adapter to any available LAN port on your ISP-provided router using an Ethernet cable.
Step 4: Power Up the Device
Power your Genesis Hotspot.
Plug the POE Power Supply Adapter into an AC power source.
Important: Do not disconnect the hotspot until all steps are completed.
Step 5: Connect to the Wayru Genesis Network and Begin Firmware Update
Prepare your mobile device for the firmware update process.
Automatic Prompt: The app will prompt you to connect to the Wayru Genesis Wi‑Fi network for configuration.
Manual Connection (if needed):
Go to your phone’s Wi‑Fi settings.
Connect to the Wayru Genesis network using the password:

.Ensure mobile data and VPN connections are turned off.
Confirm that the app has permission to access the network.
Start Update: Once connected, tap Register in the app to initiate the firmware update.
Step 6: Firmware Update Process
Your device will now update its firmware.
A notification will indicate that the firmware update has started.
Duration: The update may take about 15 minutes.
Important: Do not disconnect the hotspot from power or the internet.
If an Error Occurs: Open a support ticket if you receive a notification that the firmware update failed.
Step 7: Complete Onboarding and Set Location
Finalize the onboarding process once the firmware update is complete.
Notification: After approximately 15 minutes, check your notifications in the Account tab.
Action: Tap the notification indicating that the hotspot is updated.
Location Setting: Adjust the hotspot's location by tapping Attach Location.
If the location is inaccurate, go to your device settings and enable precise location access so the app can pinpoint your position on the map.
Step 8: Connect to the Wayru Operators Network
Continue the configuration by connecting to the Wayru Operators network.
Automatic Prompt: The app will prompt you to connect to the Wayru Operator Wi‑Fi network.
Manual Connection (if needed):
Open your phone’s Wi‑Fi settings.
Connect to the Wayru Operator network using the password:

Proceed: A Mint button will appear immediately after a successful connection.
Step 9: Mint Your Hotspot
Mint your Genesis Hotspot using your Solana wallet.
Wallet Selection: Choose a Solana wallet with enough balance to cover the mint cost plus transaction fees.
Confirm Transaction:
Select your wallet and tap Confirm.
Verify the amount to be charged. If you have a discount code, enter it now.
Tap Confirm again.
Sign Transaction: Sign the transaction to start the minting process (this may take about 2 minutes).
Completion: A message will confirm that your hotspot has been successfully minted.
Common Minting Error
Sometimes the payment may be processed on the blockchain, but the app does not register the transaction immediately.
Check: Verify if the amount was deducted from your wallet.
If Not Deducted: Try the mint process again.
If Deducted: Open a support ticket to receive a free mint code and repeat the final mint step.
Step 10: View Your Genesis Hotspot
Once minted, view your hotspot in the app.
Access: Open the Miners tab to see your deployed hotspot.
Status Indicators:
The hotspot will initially appear in red until fully activated.
It will turn green when activation is complete.
A turquoise/light blue color indicates that further actions are required.
Note: It can take up to 10 minutes for the hotspot to appear and up to 48 hours before it begins earning rewards.
Step 11: Mounting Your Hotspot
Proper mounting ensures optimal performance.
Ceiling Mount: Mounting the Genesis Hotspot on the ceiling often provides better coverage due to fewer obstructions and a clearer line-of-sight.
Wall Mount: Alternatively, you can mount it on a wall. Position the front of the device toward the area with the highest usage (e.g., behind a cash register) to serve your customers effectively.
Step 12: Test the Networks
Finally, verify that all networks are functioning correctly.
Wayru WiFi: Connect to the Wayru WiFi network.
Wayru Mobile: Connect to the Wayru Mobile network.
Wayru Operators: Connect your other devices to the Wayru Operators network.
